Although the original property, situated in Gringley on the Hill, is relatively spacious the existing structure lacks open plan spaces. To overcome this, Eight_OneTwo Architects created a bespoke design proposal for a residential conversion.
From form, height, massing and materiality, our proposal harnesses the best features of the existing property, and is designed to respond to the existing architectural vernacular in a contemporary manner. To give the property a more cohesive appearance and structure we have proposed a material palette consisting of Siberian larch timber, polycarbonate wall cladding and a standing seam zinc roof.
