The brief tasked Eight_OneTwo architects with modernising an existing dwelling in Wordsworth, Sheffield. A key requirement was to create a more contemporary entrance core and re-landscape the outdoor spaces to give the property a refreshed look.
To achieve the brief we opted for a Scandinavian design using vertical cedar cladding as the single material. The design also featured a standing seam asymmetric roof to enhance the existing roof lines and match the surrounding context. From front to back, we re-configured the outdoor spaces and elevations to create a joined-up entryway that each allows each space to follow as one unique structure.
